Mike Tiddy

Arsenal Football Club was saddened to hear of the recent death of former player Mike Tiddy, aged 80, in November 2009.

The winger joined Arsenal from Cardiff City on 23 September 1955 and made his Club debut against Sunderland the following day.

Although dogged by injuries during his Arsenal career, Tiddy managed 54 games and nine goals in his three years with the Club.

After leaving Arsenal in October 1958, Tiddy moved to the south coast, where he played for Brighton & Hove Albion until 1962.

In a football career that spanned three decades, Tiddy also played for Torquay United and Cardiff City, before representing non-league sides Falmouth, Penzance (as player-manager) and Helston.

On retiring from football, Mike became the village Postmaster at Lizard in Cornwall.
