Arthur Shaw, a wing half during the reign of Tom Whittaker, played 61 times for the club over a seven-year period.
Born in Limehouse, Shaw joined Arsenal from Brentford in April 1948 but did not make his league debut until he started a 2-1 win over Chelsea in August 1949.
Shaw was part of the side that claimed the 1952/53 Division One title and was a regular in the successful Football Combination side.
He eventually departed for Watford in June 1955 before later featuring for Gravesend.
