Like so many players from his era, Arthur Kempton's competitive Arsenal career was hampered by the First World War.
The goalkeeper served in the RAF during the war but was not able to add to a solitary FA Cup appearance against Merthyr Tydfil in 1915, despite featuring in 30 friendly matches.
He was given a free transfer by the Club in 1921 and joined Reading.
