Peter Dougall

Peter Dougall joined Arsenal in September 1933 after a successful trial and turned professional one month later.

The skilful inside forward impressed at previous club Southampton but fell out of favour under new management and joined French side Sète.

His time on the continent was short-lived, however, and Dougall soon made the move to Highbury.

But he was never a first-team regular in just under four years at Highbury, playing 23 times and scoring five goals.

He played alongside the man he was once likened to as a rising star at Southampton, Alex James, but was never able to scale the same heights.

Injury cost Dougall the entire 1936/37 season and he joined Everton at the end of the campaign. He later played for Bury.
