WHAT HAPPENED
We maintained our 100 per cent record in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League on Sunday, as we defeated Brighton &Hove Albion 5-0 on the road.
Lotte Wubben-Moy scored her first goal for the club, while Vivianne Miedema hit her 49th WSL goal in her 50th league appearance for us.
Lydia Williams and academy prospect Anouk Denton were also named in our matchday squad for the first time.
We started strong and it took us just 10 minutes to open the scoring through Miedema, who faked to shoot on the edge of the area, before pulling away from her marker and firing into the bottom corner.
Beth Mead and Miedema then came close once more in quick succession, before Danielle van de Donk doubled our advantage following some fine wing play from Caitlin Foord.
Jennifer Beattie then went on to make it three shortly after the restart, heading home at the far post for her first goal of the season.
But the highlight of the game arrived late on through substitute Wubben-Moy, who latched onto Miedema’s stunning delivery to open her account in Arsenal colours.
We weren’t done there, though, and Miedema made it five deep into stoppage time, applying the finishing touch to Katie McCabe’s lofted delivery.
The Netherlands’ international is now tied with Nikita Parris for the all-time WSL goalscoring record (49).
