WHAT HAPPENED
An outstanding strike from Dominique Janssen was the highlight of our 3-0 win at Liverpool that has taken us to within a point of third-placed Reds.
Despite the comfortable final score, we were given an early scare when Caroline Weir - a former Gunner - rattled the crossbar shortly after Beth Mead had fired over after just 11 minutes.
Vivianne Miedema established our lead just before the half-hour mark, converting after seeing her initial penalty saved by Rebecca Flaherty.
Janssen then netted our second in spectacular fashion, cutting back on to her right foot outside the area before curling a looping effort beyond the helpless Liverpool goalkeeper.
Lisa Evans then fired home the third with an angled strike to secure all three points.
WHAT IT MEANS
We’re still in fourth place in the Women’s Super League 1 table, but we’re now just a point behind Liverpool. We’re six points behind second-placed Chelsea and seven points behind table-toppers Manchester City.
