WHAT HAPPENED
We fell to a 2-1 loss at Meadow Park to Reading, despite Beth Mead’s second half strike.
We threatened early on through Vivianne Miedema, while Kirsty Pierce almost opened the scoring from a corner soon after.
Shortly after the half-hour mark, Reading’s Grace Moloney was called into action to deny Miedema, keeping the scores level.
Following the half-time break, Molly Bartrip came close to breaking the deadlock, only to see her effort saved by Anna Moorhouse.
However, a few moments later Fara Williams did open the scoring, slotting the ball in past Moorhouse.
Having came on as a substitute, Beth Mead made an instant impact to equalise.
Despite this, the visitors retook the lead almost instantly after the restart through Williams once more.
WHAT IT MEANS
Despite losing, we remain top of our group, level on Reading with six points.
WHAT'S NEXT
We host Sunderland, who lost 4-1 to Liverpool in their previous fixture.
