Jack Wilshere's young Gunners were held to a 2-2 draw at home to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday morning.
Entering the match in scorching form, having netted 13 goals in our last two outings, we started brightly. Michal Rosiak almost opened the scoring with a sublime pass to Chido Martin Obi, who unfortunately struck the post when through on goal.
However, our persistence paid off moments later as Max Dowman eluded a defender and expertly curled the ball into the top corner to give us the lead. Yet, our joy was short-lived as the visitors swiftly equalised through Dan Chimeziri.
Undeterred by the setback, we regained the lead midway through the half following a slick exchange between Dowman and Theo Julienne, with the latter setting up Martin Obi for a clinical finish.
After the break, the visitors were awarded a penalty, but Owen Asemota delivered a remarkable save to thwart Adriel Walker's attempt from 12 yards out.
We intensified our pursuit of a third goal, applying significant pressure on West Brom. Martin Obi came close on two occasions, with his initial shot parried out for a corner and his subsequent header sailing over the bar from Dowman's cross.
Asemota showed his prowess once again, denying Divine Onyemachi with another impressive save. However, despite our defensive efforts, West Brom snatched a late equaliser when the ball fell to Archie Kirton, who calmly slotted it home.
The result means we drop down to fifth in the table but we are just two points behind Fulham with two games in hand on them.
We're back in action in just three days as we travel to Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday, April 9.
Kick-off at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre is at 12pm.
