Earlier this month we hosted a delegation from the Bundesliga and Deutsche Fussball Liga at Emirates Stadium to share insights into our initiatives for combating anti-semitism both on matchdays and within the broader community.
We were joined by representatives from Hertha BSC, SC Freiburg, and Bayer Leverkusen, along with advisors from the office of Lord Mann, a key figure in advising the UK government on anti-semitism. They gathered at the stadium to hear from our own Samir Singh and Khali Parsons about how our strategies could potentially inform their own approaches in Germany.
During the session Samir, our Community Inclusion Manager, highlighted the club’s role in educating both fans and the community about anti-semitism. Khali, our Senior Fan Services Manager, shared our approach to investigating and addressing various forms of discrimination, including anti-semitism, within and around the stadium.
Following the discussions, Samir and Mark Brindle, our Supporter Liaison Officer, led the delegation on a stadium tour. We are happy to say that our visitors enjoyed the day, and their subsequent feedback on the discussions has been overwhelmingly positive.
On top of that, a day earlier at Stamford Bridge, Hannah Mansour, our Director of ESG, spoke to the same delegation about our Jewish Gooners supporters’ group. Hannah discussed the group’s formation and our engagement with Jewish Gooners by elaborating on our recent collaborative efforts.
We thank our German visitors for coming, and look forward to more postitive exchanges in the future.
