Kevin Campbell Foundation visits The Arsenal Hub

It was a pleasure to welcome The Kevin Campbell Foundation to The Arsenal Hub for two special days of football activity.

We were also joined by The St Matthew’s Project and Afewee FC, both registered charities based in Brixton that provide activities, development opportunities and vital support for young people in and around the area - a cause that was close to Kevin’s heart, seeing as he was a Brixton boy.

During the visit, young people had the opportunity to play football on the pitch and enjoy a guided tour of Emirates Stadium. They were joined by former Arsenal winger Perry Groves, who shared heartfelt stories about Kevin - both as a person and as a great Arsenal team-mate.

The Kevin Campbell Foundation was established by Kevin’s family following his passing in 2024, with the aim of building a legacy that continues to influence, inspire and uplift communities - just as Kevin did throughout his life.

As part of that legacy, Arsenal in the Community has partnered with the Foundation to launch the Kevin Campbell Award. This award celebrates individuals who demonstrate outstanding commitment within our Coach Development Programme.

The inaugural recipient, Lucy Tuke-Hastings, was chosen by her peers and recognised ahead of Arsenal’s match against Fulham in April, in honour of her exceptional dedication to the programme.

The Founder and CEO of the Kevin Campbell Foundation, Kevin’s sister, Lorna Campbell, said, “We are honoured to be working in partnership with Arsenal in the Community to create these opportunities for young people. We are particularly proud to impact and extend the growth of women's and girls' participation in grassroots football."
