'Lacazette was terrific, I'm very happy with him'

Mikel Arteta has praised Alex Lacazette's influence on the team after his goalscoring performance against Leicester City on Sunday.

Our French forward scored his first goal since Boxing Day as we made it five wins in the bounce - and the boss was delighted with his display.

"I think he was terrific today again," Arteta told Arsenal Media.

"I think the way he understands the game, what we want, the confidence that he transmits to the rest of the players in the team is crucial. I’m really happy with him.

"I'm very pleased [with the team] because it’s always really difficult to play against this Leicester team," he added.

"They are really well set-up, they are in really good form. They were playing well, they were winning matches, and I expected a really tough match, and I think it was a really tough match.

"We needed a big performance, collectively and individually and I think that’s the reason why we won the game, because we were at it."
