Van Domselaar reflects on successful club debut

It was a dream debut for Daphne van Domselaar as she secured a clean sheet and three away points against Leicester City.

Our Dutch goalkeeper, who joined us from Aston Villa in the summer, pulled off three vital stops against the Foxes to maintain our narrow lead.

"It felt good to be back on the pitch after a while," said Daphne after the match. "I'm happy with the end result."

Her acrobatic save to deny Jutta Rantala in the first half but the hosts tested our goal in the closing minutes.

"They just kept on pushing and pressing up the pitch. Unfortunately, they got some chances but I was happy that I could save them.

"In the end, we worked hard as a team and we defended as a team, so I'm pleased."

Fellow goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger was the first to run onto the pitch and congratulate Daphne after the win.

"We have a good goalkeeper union and I feel like we can support each other in what position we are. I'm really happy that she supported me in this game and I always felt her support. I will do the same for her."
