Three academy players could be involved in the upcoming UEFA European Under-17 Championship in Cyprus.
Ethan Nwaneri (England), Brayden Clarke (Wales), and Chido Obi (Denmark) have been called up by their nations.
Split into four groups of four teams, the top two countries from each group will advance to the quarter-finals before semi-finals and a final will determine the winner.
Nwaneri, the top scorer for England in qualifying with five goals, will be looking to help the Young Lions win the tournament for the third time, having previously been crowned champions in 2010 and 2014. In the group stage, they’ll be up against France, Portugal and Spain, the latter being the competition’s most successful side with nine titles.
Ethan has made 24 appearances for England under-17s to date, scoring 12 times.
Meanwhile, Brayden Clarke and Chido Obi will go head-to-head when Wales meet Denmark. Chido ended the season for our under-18s with 29 goals in 11 games, including six hat-tricks. They share a group with Croatia and Austria.
Chido has ten goals in 14 appearances for Denmark under-17s, while Brayden has played 17 times for Wales under-17s.
