Do you remember these famous wins against Wolves?

Cesc Fabregas celebrates scoring against Wolves aged 16 in 2003

Saturday sees Wolves head to the Emirates Stadium for the latest meeting between two classic English clubs, and it could have the potential to be another memorable encounter with the side from Molineux.

The Old Gold have played their part in some great games in our corner of north London down the years, which have seen records broken, heroes made and plenty of late drama.

With that in mind, we've dug out five famous fixtures against Wolves for you to enjoy again:

December 2, 2003
Arsenal 5-1 Wolves

Cesc Fabregas scores against Wolves in 2003

A youthful side eased us into the fifth round of the League Cup, with one player, in particular, creating history. Jeremie Aliadiere was alert to capitalise on a defensive error and put us in front in the first half, but with the game at 1-0 for the most part, a wave of devastating attacks in the latter stages earned the young Gunners a resounding win.

Sylvain Wiltord put the ball on a plate for Nwankwo Kanu to double our advantage before Aliadiere netted his second with a brilliant solo effort. Patrick Vieira slipped a pass to compatriot Wiltord who slotted under Andy Marshall to make it four, and after conceding an Alex Rae consolation, 16-year-old Cesc Fabregas tapped into an empty net to become our youngest-ever goalscorer - a record that still stands.

December 26, 2003
Arsenal 3-0 Wolves

In what was a dominating December double over Wolves, just over three weeks later we returned to top spot in the Premier League as our bid to remain undefeated passed another test. We wasted little time and raced ahead on 13 minutes when Vieira’s shot cruelly deflected off Jody Craddock and looped over Michael Oakes for the opener.

The Boxing Day delight continued seven minutes later when another error from Craddock was pounced upon by our skipper, and Vieira set up Thierry Henry to thump home our second. Our record-goalscorer added further gloss to the scoreline when he made it three in the closing stages.

April 3, 2010
Arsenal 1-0 Wolves

Nicklas Bendtner kept our title hopes alive when he came off the bench to head home the game's only goal deep into added time. Our injury-hit side had struggled to find a way past 10-man Wolves as we looked destined to drop valuable points in what would have been a frustrating draw, before the Dane's intervention.

We had spurned a number of good opportunities throughout the encounter, and just as it looked like we wouldn't capitalise on Karl Henry's dismissal who was red-carded just after the hour mark, Bendtner converted a Bacary Sagna cross in the 94th minute - much to the relief of everyone inside Emirates Stadium.

February 24, 2022
Arsenal 2-1 Wolves

We strengthened our push for European football with a dramatic late turnaround at Emirates. Hwang Hee-chan gave the in-form visitors a first-half lead and we struggled to hit back as Bruno Lage’s side held firm, until Nicolas Pepe’s introduction off the bench gave us the spark we needed.

He spun and finished well to equalise with 10 minutes to go, and from that moment we looked determined to find a winner, which arrived five minutes into stoppage-time. Pepe was involved again, finding captain Alexandre Lacazette in the box and the Frenchman's cross went in off visiting keeper Jose Sa to send Emirates into pandemonium.

May 28, 2023
Arsenal 5-0 Wolves

We rounded off the 2022/23 season in style by thrashing Wolves, with Granit Xhaka netting his first brace for the club in what proved to be his Emirates Stadium swansong. The Swiss midfielder took just 13 minutes of the first half to achieve the feat with two close-range finishes, with Bukayo Saka whipping in an excellent third before half-time.

We kept up the pressure in the second half and Gabriel Jesus added a fourth with a header just before the hour mark, and with 12 minutes remaining Jakub Kiwior bagged his first in red and white to complete the scoring, and put the cap on a remarkable campaign that saw Champions League football return to north London once again.
