April

Nicklas made four appearances, scoring his eighth Premier League goal of the season in Sunderland's 2-2 draw with Bolton.

March

Nicklas hit top form for Sunderland in March, firing four goals in his five Premier League matches. He kicked off the month with a penalty in the Tyne-Wear derby before adding goals against Liverpool, QPR and Manchester City. "I've not thought about his future at all," said Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill. "I've not mentioned it to him, there's no point in putting pressure on anyone at the moment. He's played very well and may think that with that type of performance he's still capable of breaking into Arsenal's squad."

February

Nicklas continued his rehabilitation from facial injuries, and made his comeback as a second-half substitute in Sunderland's 4-0 defeat to West Brom at the end of the month.

January

Nicklas played four times for Sunderland as Martin O'Neill's side continued in a good vein of form, but he suffered facial injuries against Swansea on January 21. "He's got a bit more than a broken nose. It's difficult to put a timescale on it, but it's going to be lengthy," O'Neill said.

Nicklas was a regular for Sunderland during the month, scoring in the 3-2 win over QPR for his third Sunderland goal.

November

Nicklas was a first-team regular for Sunderland, playing three times for the Black Cats.

October

Nicklas enjoyed a strong run of matches on loan with Sunderland during October, scoring Premier League goals against both West Brom and Bolton.

September

August

Nicklas featured for Arsenal just once during the month, replacing Theo Walcott as a late substitute in the defeat to Liverpool.
