If you are in North Carolina's Piedmont Triad region, be sure to meet up with the local branches of Arsenal America!
Meet the fans: Winston-Salem
In recent years North Carolina has become a growing hot spot for Arsenal in the United States. You can find four Arsenal America branches in the Tar Heel State: Asheville, Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham and Winston-Salem.
Winston-Salem’s branch, known as The Camel City Gooners, was founded in 2013 by three co-workers who shared a passion for all things Arsenal.
The group's name is an homage to the city itself. Winston-Salem earned the nickname due to its long history with the tobacco industry.
The Camel City Gooners describe themselves as “a nascent but enthusiastic group excited to meet fellow Gooners and see our numbers grow amidst the strong soccer community of Winston-Salem.”
So far so good. The group has already outgrown their original pub and now meet up for match days at Small Batch Beer company in downtown Winston-Salem.Copyright 2015 The Arsenal Football Club plc.
