Team news: Arteta opts for unchanged side in derby

Arsenal celebrate scoring against Chelsea

Mikel Arteta has named an unchanged side for today’s north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

The boss has rewarded the same 11 players who starred in Tuesday’s 5-0 thrashing of Chelsea by handing them an opportunity to sparkle again on derby day, meaning Takehiro Tomiyasu and Thomas Partey keep their places having come into the side for the game against the Blues.

Mikel will be hoping that his selection will see us string together a third straight home win, record back-to-back wins at Tottenham for the first time since 1988, potentially record successive league clean sheets at the home of our rivals for the first time ever and potentially claim a Premier League record in the process.

Discover a host of other statistics and quirks about our previous north London derbies.

As for our opponents, Ange Postecoglu has made three changes to the team that suffered a 4-0 loss at Newcastle United 15 days ago.

One is enforced as Destiny Odogie suffered a torn quadricep in training and his place at left-back is taken by Ben Davies, while fellow full-back Pedro Porro came off in the game at St James’ Park but is fit to start.

Dejan Kulusevski and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg also come into the team in place of Brennan Johnson and Yves Bissouma, who drop to the bench.

Tottenham: Vicario, Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Davies, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Kulusevski, Maddison, Werner, Son.
Subs: Austin, Dragusin, Royal, Bissouma, Sarr, Gil, Johnson, Richarlison, Lo Celso.

Arsenal: Raya, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tomiyasu, Rice, Partey, Odegaard, Trossard, Saka, Havertz.
Subs: Ramsdale, Zinchenko, Kiwior, Jorginho, Smith Rowe, Vieira, Martinelli, Nketiah, Jesus.
