Alessia Russo loves scoring goals at Emirates Stadium.
Our England international was on target in our 3-0 victory over Leicester City on Sunday, meaning she's now scored six goals in seven WSL appearances in N5.
We spoke to Russo after the game and here's what she had to say:
On the way we controlled the game...
Yeah, it was really good. It was tough at times in the first half, but I think we really grew into the game and took our chances in the second half as well. So, yeah, positive all round and we love playing here, it’s great.
On the importance of maintaining standards...
Yeah, massive. That's exactly what we want to do as a team. We've only got a few games left, and we want to keep building and keep progressing. So yeah, today was tough at times. But we knew we wanted to put on our strong performance again and get the three points.
On scoring another goal at Emirates Stadium...
Yeah, I mean, I love scoring and creating as much as I can and to do and the Emirates feels extra special. Yeah, we love playing here. We love the fans, they’re great.
On another game with more than 40,000 tickets sold...
Yeah. I mean, it's incredible. Every single time we play here, they come through in numbers and they’re so loud. I think the growth in the women's game is massive. And I think you can stop saying that people don't want to come to women’s football anymore because they want to know about it. Come down to Arsenal as we do it week in, week out.
