Arsenal Under-18s kick off their FA Youth Cup campaign on Friday night when Reading visit Meadow Park.

The young Gunners came close to matching their 2008/09 success last season but were knocked out of the competition by Chelsea in the semi-finals.

Jack Wilshere and Francis Coquelin are part of Arsène Wenger's first-team squad now but five years ago they were in the side that went all the way in the Youth Cup, beating Liverpool 6-2 on aggregate in a two-legged final.

Goals from Gilles Sunu, Wilshere, Sanchez Watt and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas put the young Gunners in charge at the Emirates before Watt and an own goal secured victory - and the silverware - in the second leg at Anfield
