Nketiah on a good start with room for improvement

Nketiah

Eddie Nketiah has given his thoughts on the start to the season so far, describing our unbeaten run as “seven or eight out of ten.”

“We’ve done well, you know, but we know within ourselves we can still go one more,” he explained. “We want to win all the games possible and I think we’ve had a good start but we can still improve, all of us individually and collectively, so we’re hungry to improve and continue.”

Reflecting on last season, Eddie said the most pleasing aspect was the atmosphere the team created at Emirates Stadium with performances on the pitch.

“There were loads of good points in the season,” he said. “I think, first of all, the atmosphere at the Emirates we created, especially last season, is amazing. That’s really what has rallied us all together and you can really see that, when teams come to the Emirates, they feel that pressure and atmosphere, so I think that’s really been good for us and really been a nice strength of us.”

With the addition of former Chelsea academy teammate Declan Rice in the summer, Eddie is excited to see what more our big summer signing brings to the team.

“I think he’s a great player, a really good guy as well,” Eddie added. “Obviously I know him and his family really well, so it’s really good and I’m happy that he’s here because I think he’s a really good player and I’m sure he’s going to help us a lot this season.”

Following a productive beginning to his campaign, Gooners will be hoping we can see more of Eddie scoring goals in the famous number 14.

“Of course it’s a great honour to wear the shirt,” he said. “I try to give it my best and create my own legacy as best as possible in the shirt.”
