Szczesny - Goals came at crucial times

Wojciech Szczesny hopes Arsenal can maintain their habit of scoring at key moments in games.

The Gunners twice found themselves on the back foot in Saturday’s 4-1 win against Norwich, but eased the pressure on themselves with a breakaway goal for Mesut Ozil and then Aaron Ramsey's individual effort.

"It's important that when we are under pressure, we can break and score important goals to give ourselves a little cushion"

Szczesny believes this was the difference between the two teams and is confident Arsene Wenger’s side will continue in the same vein in the coming weeks.

“It's a funny result because 4-1 would indicate that we were the much better side but I thought Norwich were tremendous for long periods of the game,” Szczesny told Arsenal Player.

“But they didn’t take their chances and we punished them for it with some great goals - especially the first one, which was one of the best goals I have seen at this stadium.

“Norwich really pushed us really hard and we scored when it looked like they were about to score. It's important that when we are under pressure, we can break and score important goals to give ourselves a little cushion.

“That is what we did twice, at 1-0 and again at 2-1. Hopefully we can keep that going, it certainly takes the pressure off the defenders and [makes the match] much more enjoyable to play in.”
