Shelley Kerr spoke to Arsenal.com after Arsenal Ladies beat Chelsea 2-1 in the Women's Super League on Thursday night.

on a welcome victory…
It was vitally important that we got the three points. We've been on a recent run of good form and I thought we fully deserved the win - we were the better team.

on the result being tighter than it might have been…
When you've got a goal or a two-goal cushion, it's never easy because there are so many talented players and talented teams in this league that they will punish you for any mistakes. That's exactly what happened.

on going into the summer break with a win…
It's fantastic. We said beforehand that we wanted to get the three points so badly because you then get a chance to regroup and be stronger in the second part of the season. We've had a few injuries and different things to deal with as a club. That's not been easy for us but I think we've come out of it very well.

on Jade Bailey's performance…
I thought she was fantastic. I never like singling players out but she's a young kid that's come in and never seems to get fazed by anything. She displayed that she has all the makings of a quality player.
