Mikel Arteta told Arsenal.com before the Asia Tour 2013 that he'd always wanted to learn how to make sushi. On Friday, that dream became a reality.
Mikel and Bacary Sagna are among a number of Arsenal players who regularly eat sushi in London - it's a popular food with the squad because it's healthy - and it was the France international who joined the Club's vice-captain for a lesson in Saitama.
A highly-respected local chef demonstrated how to slice up a huge tuna fish and then taught the Arsenal players the secrets of the special rice used to make sushi.
Mikel and Bacary made sashimi and California rolls among other dishes. And, like the fan party around the corner in Saitama, their event was gatecrashed by Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker, dressed as samurais.
