Internationals: Ospina, Alexis, Iwobi

David Ospina

We had three first-team players in senior action for their countries on Thursday evening, while a fourth was involved at under-21 level.

Scroll down to find out how our international stars fared:

Alexis completed 90 minutes and hit the crossbar in Chile’s 1-0 World Cup qualifying defeat against Argentina. The forward’s second-half free-kick rattled off the frame of the goal as La Roja failed to cancel out Lionel Messi’s 16th-minute penalty in Buenos Aires.

David Ospina played the full 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet in Colombia’s 1-0 World Cup qualifying win over Bolivia in Barranquilla. Carlos Lampe denied James Rodriguez from the spot, but the playmaker followed up in the 83rd minute to secure a vital win on Colombia’s road to Russia 2018.
