Internationals: McCabe claims assists

Fara Williams claimed an assist in England’s 7-0 Euro 2017 qualifying victory against Serbia. The midfielder slipped Alex Greenwood through to score the opening goal of the game, before Karen Carney doubled England's lead from the spot. Rachel Daly then scored a debut goal before the break. Mark Sampson’s side continued the second half on the front foot, as Ellen White, Isobel Christiansen and Carney hit the target. Carney then completed her hat-trick to secure an emphatic victory at Adams Park. Jordan Nobbs has had to withdraw from Sampson's side due to a hamstring injury. 
Casey Stoney and Fara Williams started England’s 7-0 Euro 2017 qualifying win against Serbia. Jill Scott opened the scoring, before Ellen White doubled their advantage with a cool finish. Gemma Davison then extended the visitors’ lead with a brace, while Nevina Damjanovi? turned the ball past her own keeper to make it five. Substitute Nikita Parris was on target twice to wrap up an emphatic victory. Alex Scott came on in the 56th minute.

Emma Byrne and Katie McCabe played the full 90 minutes of Ireland’s 4-1 Euro 2017 qualifying defeat against Finland. Captain Byrne was unable to stop Emmi Alanen’s opener just past the half-hour mark, before Jenny-Julia Danielsson doubled the hosts’ advantage on the stroke of half-time. Natalia Kuikka made it three after the restart and, although substitute Stephanie Roche then pulled one back for Ireland, Linda Sallstrom made sure of Finland's victory with a late strike.
Katie McCabe claimed two assists in Ireland’s 9-0 Euro 2017 qualifying win against Montenegro. Megan Connolly opened the scoring, before Aine O’Gorman and Stephanie Roche hit the target. O’Gorman then scored twice in the second half to seal her hat-trick, while Louise Quinn made it six with a powerful header. McCabe was then fouled in the box, but following good advantage from the referee, the ball fell to Roche who made no mistake from inside the box. McCabe continued to provide after her 46th minute introduction, crossing for Roche to complete her hat-trick. Fiona O’Sullivan rounded off the scoring seven minutes from the end to complete an emphatic win, which equalled their highest-scoring game of all time, having previously beaten Malta 9-0 in 2003. Emma Byrne played the full 90 minutes.

Sari Van Veenendaal and Danielle Van de Donk played the full 90 minutes of the Netherlands’ 2-0 friendly win against South Africa. Vivianne Miedema was on target twice for the visitors.

Emma Mitchell played 46 minutes of Scotland’s 4-0 Euro 2017 qualifying defeat against Iceland. Hallbera Gísladóttir opened the scoring before Harpa Þorsteinsdóttir doubled their advantage. Gunnhildur Jónsdóttir and Margret Vidarsdottir then secured a comfortable win for the visitors.
Emma Mitchell did not play in Scotland’s 1-0 Euro 2017 qualifying win against Belarus.
