Theo - We were unstoppable at times

Theo Walcott says Arsenal were impossible to play against during Sunday’s 4-1 win over West Bromwich Albion.

The England forward scored a 32-minute hat-trick and Jack Wilshere added another as the Gunners ran riot in a dominant first-half performance at Emirates Stadium.

Arsene Wenger’s side eased off after the break but Walcott was pleased with how Arsenal responded to a three-game goalless run at home.

"There’s a good sense of belief in this team, we can take it into the weekend and hopefully get another trophy"

“Without a doubt [Arsenal were at their best],” he told Arsenal Player. “When it’s free-flowing football, we’re impossible to play against. You always sensed it was going to be a different second half.

“We’ve got the FA Cup coming up and some players were maybe saving themselves, which is understandable, the fans will want more and more, but it’s a long season.

“I just want to play football,” added Walcott. “Getting a hat-trick on the last day of the season after having limited opportunities - it was just nice to go out there to show what I can do. Hopefully the fans were very happy with that.”

Walcott also paid tribute to the 59,971 supporters who filled Emirates Stadium to watch Arsenal end the Premier League season in style - and millions more fans around the world.

“Like every season they’ve been absolutely remarkable,” he said. “The Emirates is their place and they’re making it into a fortress, as you could sense from the play today. We’ve got to thank each and every one of them, they’ve been great all season.

“It goes to show what a huge club we are and we should be winning more for these great fans [around the world]. There’s a good sense of belief in this team, we can take it into the weekend and hopefully get another trophy.”
