Chambers - It was a fantastic experience

Calum Chambers says the experience of playing in a Champions League away game so early in his Arsenal career will stand him in good stead for the future.

The teenager produced another eye-catching display in central defence against Besiktas as the Gunners played out a goalless draw in the first leg of their play-off tie.

Chambers has received widespread praise for his performances since he joined the club and the youngster feels his confidence is growing with every game.

"It's with the help from everyone at the club and the players and staff who have welcomed me"

"I've been working my way into Arsenal really well," Chambers said. "That's helped my confidence, I've dropped back into centre back and I'm really enjoying it there.

"You learn from playing and training every day with players of this quality. It's fantastic for me and I'm gaining confidence game by game.

"It's with the help from everyone at the club and the players and staff who have welcomed me. That's helped me settle in so quickly.

"It's a fantastic experience for me at a stadium like that and a crowd like that. All the boys put in such a good effort and I think we deserved a 0-0, if not more.

"You've just got to stay switched on the whole time and stay focused for 90 minutes. At anytime they can create chances and score. It's another good experience for me playing against players of such quality."
