Arsenal Football Club has welcomed South African Breweries’ Hansa Pilsener as its official beer partner.
A market favourite since 1975 when first introduced in the country, Hansa Pilsener will bring the Premier League closer to its many supporters in the country through a number of exclusive activities.
The alcohol brand has sole rights within South Africa to target supporters through the club’s digital media channels and develop a range of exclusive benefits for consumers. The brewer will also look to engage its customers with unique opportunities to attend matches at Emirates Stadium throughout the season and offer consumers the chance to win signed club merchandise. Hansa Pilsener will also feature members of the Arsenal first team in bespoke marketing activity.
Vinai Venkatesham, sales and marketing director for Arsenal, said of the partnership: "We are delighted to welcome Hansa Pilsener to the club as an official partner. We are always looking to engage with our supporters and fans of the game globally, and through this partnership we will be able to offer exclusive access to the club while giving Hansa Pilsener the opportunity to reach our millions of supporters in South Africa through creative digital media campaigns.”
Khensani Nobanda, general manager of Hansa Pilsner, said: "Hansa is a beer brewed for dreamers; it’s a brand that represents pulling out all the stops until you reach your goal. For fans and players alike, football and particularly Arsenal represents that effort. There is no doubt that Arsenal’s 2014 FA Cup victory touched and inspired many a fan in South Africa who will be following closely as the team prepares to repeat this success.
"As official beer partner of Arsenal in South Africa, Hansa Pilsener is looking forward to what is bound to be a spectacular season."
