Important travel advice - Newcastle (h)

The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) has announced a 48-hour strike involving their members working for London Underground.

If the strike goes ahead, this will affect supporters travelling to our Premier League fixture against Newcastle United at Emirates Stadium on Monday, April 28, 2014.

TfL has plans to ensure London can keep moving during these periods but supporters are advised to expect significant disruption. Strike action will commence from around 2100 on Monday, 28 April and continue throughout the whole of Tuesday 29 and Wednesday, April 30. Services will not return to normal until the morning of Thursday, May 1.

Supporters are advised that tube services may be affected at stations around Emirates Stadium before kick-off and are strongly urged to identify other means of transport for their homebound journeys following the match, as it is unlikely that there will be any Tube services in operation.

Possible alternatives include:

  • Walk to King’s Cross, St. Pancras International, Liverpool Street and Euston to connect with National Rail and local bus services - the walking maps here show suggested walking routes
  • First Capital Connect train services will be operating from Finsbury Park as normal but please note they are expected to be much busier than normal

Please check before you travel - visit tfl.gov.uk or follow @TfLTravelAlerts for the latest travel information.

Any further updates will be communicated on Arsenal.com in due course.
