Arsenal 1-1 Manchester United
Henry always seemed to score against Manchester United. Be it breathtaking strikes from long range, headers from inside the box or simply pouncing on goalkeeping gifts, he scored all sorts of goals against Sir Alex Ferguson's men. This effort, a swerving shot from 30 yards, deceived Roy Carroll on its way into the roof of the net.

Arsenal 1-0 Manchester United
Henry scored 228 times for Arsenal - but none better than this outrageous, dipping volley. Voted by Arsenal fans as the second-best goal in the club's history (beaten only by Dennis Bergkamp's sublime strike at Newcastle United), this was the King at his brilliant best. Receiving the ball from Gilles Grimandi with his back to goal 20 yards out, Henry flicked the ball up before swivelling and dispatching an instinctive effort over Fabien Barthez and into the top corner. Simply stunning.

Arsenal 4-2 Liverpool
In the space of three days, Arsenal's hopes of a treble had been dashed by defeats to Manchester United in the FA Cup and Chelsea in the Champions League. And when Liverpool took a 2-1 lead at Highbury soon after, it looked as though Arsรจne Wenger's side had loosened their grip on the Premier League title too. But Henry wasn't having that. Soon after Robert Pires had equalised, the Frenchman found space just inside the Liverpool half, accelerated past one defender, shimmied around another before slotting calmly beyond Jerzy Dudek. Arsenal went on to win 4-2 - with Henry scoring a hat-trick - and finished the season as Invincibles.

Arsenal 3-0 Tottenham Hotspur
Henry's best goal against our north London rivals and another wonderful individual effort. It all started when the forward picked up Patrick Vieira's clearance halfway inside his own half. Shrugging off Matthew Etherington, Henry hared through on goal, selling Stephen Carr a dummy, shifting the ball onto his left foot and stroking the ball inside Kasey Keller's near post. Henry's most iconic celebration followed, his famous knee slide the inspiration for his statue outside Emirates Stadium.

Sparta Prague 0-2 Arsenal
The night Henry made history. The striker had missed six weeks of action with a groin injury, but returned in Prague to become Arsenal's record goalscorer. The first, equaling Ian Wright's total of 185, was particularly memorable. Controlling Kolo Toure's raking pass with one touch, Henry found a yard of space and, with the outside of his right foot, curled a sublime shot right into the far corner. Better was to follow after the break, when Henry surpassed Wright's tally with a clinical close-range finish.

Real Madrid 0-1 Arsenal
What a goal - and what a setting! No English club had ever won at the Bernabeu, but Henry ensured that Arsenal would become the first on this February night in 2006. Picking the ball up in the centre circle, Henry muscled his way beyond Ronaldo and surged away from two covering defenders before sprinting clear of Sergio Ramos and angling a low left-footed shot into the far corner. Displaying strength, pace and that precise clinical finishing ability, this goal encapsulated Henry's brilliance.

Arsenal 4-0 Charlton Athletic
Invention, spontaneity and impudence - this was Henry at his jaw-dropping best. Arsenal were already on their way to victory against Charlton, thanks to Freddie Ljungberg's opener, when a touch of Gallic genius doubled the advantage. There seemed to be no way Henry could score when he received the ball just outside the six-yard box and with his back to goal. But in one fluid movement, he backed into Jonathan Fortune and sent an audacious backheel through the defender's legs with enough power to beat Dean Kiely.

Watford 2-3 Arsenal
An early indication of what was to follow. This was typical Henry, gliding clear of defenders before working the angle to delightfully curl a shot past Alec Chamberlain and into the corner from just inside the area. The effortless way in which he beat Watford's players and that crisp finish with the in-step would become synonymous with the man.

Inter Milan 1-5 Arsenal
Another superb strike in a major European stadium. Inter were pouring men forward with Arsenal leading 2-1 in the closing stages of this must-win Champions League group stage fixture. The Gunners countered and Ray Parlour found Henry near the halfway line. Leaving Javier Zanetti trailing in his wake, Henry advanced at goal but slowed down just inside the area. Zanetti caught up but was powerless to stop Henry going past him once again, as was Francesco Toldo to stop the well-struck shot that went in off the far post. Arsenal went on to secure one of their best-ever results on foreign soil.

West Ham United 2-2 Arsenal
Picking the ball up midway inside the West Ham half and with his back to goal, Henry flicked the ball over Christian Daily's head, turned and, from 25 yards, thundered a shot right into the stanchion.
