Arsenal completed a fine week by adding to their impressive
unbeaten league run with a 7-0 thumping of Sunderland at Boreham
Wood FC.

Only Jayne Ludlow's 35th-minute goal separated the sides at
half-time as Carly Telford kept Sunderland in contention with a
string of fine saves. However, the Gunners came out flying in the
second half and the goals flowed.

Ludlow scored twice more to complete her hat-trick within eight
minutes of the restart, and it was not long before she made it four
on 68 minutes.

The Wales international was then substitute, as were Yvonne
Tracey and Sanderson. Those changes allowed Kelly Smith to play up
front and she made the most of it. Smith grabbed a poacher's
goal inside the six-yard box and then added her second with a low
half-volley after Rachel Yankey's corner.

Yankey then grabbed up her side's seventh goal with a fine
solo effort, surging in off the left flank to send a looping
right-footed shot over the stranded Blues keeper.

Two wins for Arsenal inside a week leaves them five points clear
at the top of the table with Charlton back in second and Everton in
third place.

The Ladies now face two massive home games at Meadow Park
against their two closest rivals. Everton are the visitors on
Sunday, April 9 and Charlton travel to Boreham Wood FC four days
later.

Two wins for Arsenal will see them win the Premier League title
for the fourth consecutive year.
