Benik Afobe

Talented striker Benik spent eight months on the sidelines at the beginning of last season after picking up a serious groin injury in pre-season against New York Red Bulls.

The England youth international returned with a string of appearances in Neil Banfield’s reserves, scoring on his comeback against Norwich in February.

The powerful youngster’s return earned him a loan move to Reading in the Championship, where he made three appearances and helped the Royals secure the league title and promotion back to the Premier League.

Benik also played a key role in England’s 2012 Under-19 European Championship in Estonia and featured during the Club’s 2012 tour of Asia.
