BTEC Level 3 Sports & Coaching
The club has been running education programmes aimed at young adults for the best part of 25 years. The BTEC Sports programme (previously a YTS) is its longest standing scheme. Combining further education alongside opportunities to gain invaluable practical coaching experience gives learners a great platform for further development.
The BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sports & Coaching is run alongside St Aloysius College (16-18years). Participants spend 2.5 days at college learning sports science, physiology, officiating and other aspects of community sport with 2.5 days at the Club receiving coach education sessions, with a view to deliver football coaching in local primary schools in Islington. Over the two years they will be mentored working towards completing their FA Levels 1 & 2 coaching badges.
Following completion of the course learners have joined Arsenals GAP programme, allowing coaches to deliver sessions throughout the world; continued further education at university; continued with casual employment on Arsenal in the Community projects and Soccer Schools and some have even set up their own businesses!
