Kai Havertz

The German was in the thick of the goals for us, scoring four times and also laying on three assists in six Premier League matches. He managed to find the back of the net against Brighton & Hove Albion before haunting his former club Chelsea with a brace, and then netted what proved to be the winner at Tottenham Hotspur.

As well as that, he set up Martin Odegaard for the opener against Luton Town, and played the pass that set Leandro Trossard away to score against the Seagulls. His excellent 40-yard delivery was also vital in Bukayo Saka’s goal against Spurs.

Our skipper once again led the way during a month packed with eight fixtures, which he started by getting on the scoresheet against the Hatters to reach double figures for the campaign, and was then named man of the match in our Champions League draw with Bayern Munich.

Martin went on to bag a well-taken late goal to seal our win at Wolves, and laid on two fine assists during our 5-0 thrashing of Chelsea to move him to 20 goal involvements for the campaign.

Leandro Trossard

The Belgian was a constant goal threat during the month, making an impact whether starting or coming onto the field. He scored four times in April, the first being a crucial strike off the bench to draw us level with Bayern Munich, and then he repeated the trick when re-introduced to his old stomping ground of the Amex Stadium.

Handed a starting spot against Wolves, he netted the all-important opener to set us on our way to a 2-0 win, and then kickstarted the rout against Chelsea when he blasted in on four minutes to move onto 15 goals for the campaign.

Last month’s recipient continued his brilliant form into April, as he remains a force at both ends of the field. His highlight of the month came when he netted the first brace of his career against Chelsea, on a night where he also helped us record a clean sheet.

That was one of four shutouts he contributed to during our eight matches, and he also grabbed an assist for good measure in our 2-2 draw with Bayern in the Champions League quarter-final.
