JGs enjoy Festive Funday at Emirates Stadium

Four hundred young Arsenal fans flocked to Emirates Stadium on Thursday, January 3 for the Junior Gunners’ Festive Funday.

The eagerly-anticipated annual event saw the JGs enjoy an action-packed day in the company of the Gunners’ first-team squad.

The youngsters were given the chance to watch the team’s morning training session and made the most of it, creating banners and practising their favourite chants in preparation for cheering the players on.

Their efforts did not go unnoticed, with Arsene Wenger coming over at the end of the session to thank them for their raucous support.

The afternoon was spent in the company of the Gunners’ stars.

JGs took part in a signing session, getting pictures with the team, and enjoyed a stint in a state-of-the-art games room alongside the players.

Lukas Podolski challenged JGs to games of EA SPORTS FIFA 13 while Carl Jenkinson took on young fans on the air hockey tables. The likes of Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs and Tomas Rosicky were also on hand, providing tips to the JGs as they honed their skills in a series of urban football challenges.

A specially-produced Arsenal pantomime - The Greatest Fairy Tale Ever Told - featuring guest appearances from a host of first-team players including a starring role for Per Mertesacker as the giant from Jack in the Beanstalk - brought the day to a dramatic close.
