It’s school fete season and today I paid visits to two. First it was Gillespie Primary School on Gillespie Road next door to Highbury. Lots of children came along with their mums and dads and so it was a busy few hours for me. Then it was off to Stroud Green Primary School for their school fete, which was even bigger than the one in the morning. Everyone had a fun time and lots of money was raised for both schools.

Another primary school visit today in Archway. I popped into Hargrave Park School to present certificates to the boys and girls who have excelled with their reading while attending the Arsenal Double Club. As usual, I had a bit of fun with the classes and their teachers.

Just up the road from the Emirates Stadium is Highbury Fields. I went there this morning for St Mary’s Primary school sports day. All the children were taking part in different events like the egg and spoon race, the sack race, relay races and many more. I had a go but was mainly there to cheer the children on.

Later in the afternoon I called into The Blessed Sacrament Catholic Primary School just off of Copenhagen Street for their summer fare.

I went to Whittington Park in Holloway today to meet up with our Community boys who were holding a football tournament for local schools. I took along the FA Cup with me so everyone could have a picture taken.

Another School fete today. This one took place after school at Thornhill Primary School in Islington. The weather was really hot so everyone stayed behind after school had finished and had a great time raising lots of money.

As part of the City of London Festival, Arsenal Football Club organised a workshop which took place under the Bowler Hat just beside St Paul’s Cathedral. I went along with our Community Department and took part in storytelling, linking it up with the World Cup. We also had games like True or False and I gave away some special prizes too. I met lots of Arsenal fans as well as tourists visiting London who all wanted a picture with me.

After this I visited the annual school fete at St Joan of Arc Primary School in Blackstock Road. I have been coming to their school fete for the last 10 years and I am always made very welcome. The Head Teacher at the school is a Spurs fan, so when I saw her in the Stocks with children throwing wet sponges at her I just had to have a go as well.

Arsenal Ladies were playing Chelsea Ladies in the Continental Cup today at Boreham Wood, so I went down to check it out. We won the game by goals 3-0 with Kelly Smith getting two. There was a crowd of nearly 1,000 so lots of fans for me to meet.

Wow! What a day today! Firstly we get the news that the club have completed the signing of Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona. Then we launch our new PUMA sponsorship with the new kit coming out, along with the opening of the new Armoury Store which after being revamped. I wore my new kit for the first time today and I must say I looked pretty good, with my new PUMA King boots. Boy did I look smart. Aaron Ramsey, Carl Jenkinson and Theo Walcott all came along to the launch and I managed to get a cuddle with Theo while he was there. I was told it was filmed by Sky Sports TV so you may have seen me. There were hundreds of fans around all buying the new kit so I was very busy all day posing for Facebook pictures and screensavers.

No rest for me, another School fete today in Islington. Today it was the turn of Rotherfield Primary School. I had not been there before so it was great to make some new friends.

Arsenal in the Community held its annual awards ceremony today at the stadium. The event recognised the achievements and work of 350 Arsenal in the Community participants over the course of the 2013/14 season. Former Gunners Perry Groves and Alan Smith, local MP Jeremy Corbyn and Tom Watt were all there to congratulate the
winners. The FA Cup was also on show as well as myself to greet guests as they arrived.

That's all from me for now.

Big hugs,

Gunner
