'Gunners on the Road' rolls into town

Our summer roadshow, 'Gunners on the Road', started its six-week long journey over the weekend, kicking off in style in both Northampton and Peterborough.

Crowds descended upon the two town centres with excitement, eager to see what was in store for them. And once on-board they were not disappointed as they got to see a rare insight into what life is like as a player at Arsenal Football Club.

Firstly they were welcomed to Arsenal's Training Centre in London Colney by none other than Arsene Wenger, before taking on Wojciech Szczesny on a special reaction speed game.

The next stop was to have their photo taken on the pitch at Emirates Stadium as they made their way to the home dressing room. Once inside the famous Arsenal dressing room fans had the chance to have their picture taken with their favourite players shirt as they heard from Thomas Vermaelen on what it's like to step out of the tunnel and play at Emirates Stadium, and then Theo Walcott as he gave special tips on how to take a penalty ready for the shootout challenge that lay ahead.

Once ready and prepared they were led out of the tunnel to cheers from the Emirates crowd as they took to the pitch to show off their penalty taking skills.

The roadshow is touring across the south of the UK throughout the summer, visiting 17 different venues from now until the end of August. Our next stop is Newport, South Wales this Thursday before arriving in Swindon on Friday. It will then hit the road for London this weekend where it will arrive in time for the Emirates Cup.
