Kelly was appointed player-coach in August 2013 after a total of eight years with Arsenal.

The record-breaking international forward scored 46 times in 117 appearances for England and was handed coaching responsibilities as a senior member of Shelley Kerr’s side.

Following Sherr’s departure Kelly had a spell in charge of Arsenal Ladies, helping the Gunners reach the 2014 Continental Cup final.

Pedro Martinez Losa took over permanently in August that season and announced that he would keep Kelly as his assistant.
