Arsenal Women Sister Schools

The Arsenal Women Sister School Programme aims to support schools in developing girls sport and foster & inspire a love of football.

During the past two seasons Arsenal Women have worked with over 30 Primary and Secondary Sister Schools with the key aims of:

• Inspiring every girl to love the game
• Supporting teachers with skills & confidence to deliver more girls football at their school

Previous Seasons

Across the last two seasons the Sister School Programme has provided a wide variety of opportunities for schools wanting to develop girls football including:

• Female Only FA Level 1 in Football Qualification for teachers in Sister Schools
• Player Escort & Guard of Honour places for girls at Arsenal Women home games
• Links with Arsenal Women Sister Clubs to support girls with exit routes as a player or a beginner coach
• Junior Football Leader Award for girls interested in developing a career in coaching & refereeing
• Inspiring Females in Sport day with female guest speakers from a range of exciting roles in sport
• Sister School Festivals hosted at the Arsenal Training Ground and Arsenal Community Hub

Sister Schools in the 2019/20 Season

Across the 2019/20 season we will be re-structuring the support we offer to schools, making the programme more flexible and focused around football coaching. Each school joining the programme will have the opportunity to select the amount of coaching visits they receive as well as tickets for Arsenal Women home WSL Fixtures.

Schools joining the programme will receive:

• Access to teacher development workshops, coaching session plans and coaching resources
• School Assembly led by an Arsenal Women Coach
• Access to play in the Arsenal Women Sister School Festival including Emirates Stadium Tour & coaching sessions at the Arsenal Community Hub
• 1 to 20 hours of coaching support (depending on the aims & budget for the school)
• Tickets to Arsenal Women home WSL Fixtures (10 tickets per coaching session)

Throughout the season other opportunities may become available for schools, and these will be communicated on a regular basis.
