As the Club’s outgoing Head of Youth Development, Liam has established Arsenal’s academy as one of the leaders in the game over the past 17 years.

After a glittering playing career with the Gunners in which he made 307 appearances, starring in the 1970s side that reached three consecutive FA Cup Finals, Liam went on to play in Italy and had spells in management before returning to Arsenal in 1996 as Head of Youth Development and Academy Director – a role he has assumed for more than 25 years.

During his time at the helm, he has been responsible for nurturing the potential of numerous professional players including current first team players Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs.

Liam is uniquely placed to understand the challenges facing young people and will be an invaluable partner in developing The Arsenal Foundation.
