Emirates Cup 2014

Arsenal hosted the Emirates Cup for the seventh time at the beginning of August 2014 with Benfica, Valencia and Monaco travelling to north London to take part in the pre-season tournament.

After watching Valencia and Monaco play out an entertaining 2-2 draw, Arsรจne Wenger's side kicked off their tournament in style. They beat Benfica 5-1 thanks to four goals from Yaya Sanogo and a sublime Joel Campbell volley, to leave the Gunners top of the standings at the end of day one.

Valencia put themselves in contention with a 3-1 win against Benfica but Arsenal needed just a point against Monaco to lift the trophy for the first time since 2010. However, a Radamel Falcao header in the first half secured a narrow victory for Monaco and denied the Gunners their fourth Emirates Cup win.

Fans in attendance got to sample the Emirates experience with cabin crew on hand for podium giveaways, competitions for player mascots and more. With sell-out crowds on both days, the weekend proved hugely enjoyable on and off the pitch.

One fan won two return flights to Dubai and a chance to enjoy Emirates hospitality at the Tottenham game as part of the Lucky Numbers competition, sponsored by Emirates.
