In recent years Arsenal in the Community has delivered a football development programme where promising players from community projects are accelerated into teams and local leagues to play regular fixtures at weekends and during school holidays.
The programme provides players with the opportunity to train twice a week with Arsenal in the Community coaches. While the focus is on encouraging football at grassroots levels, a number of players have progressed into nonleague and league clubs through the scheme.
