Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” And it is education that plays a vital role in addressing climate change and the adverse effects that it will have on us and future generations.
Arsenal have been working with Sustained Futures to create and deliver sustainability training to our local community. By the end of the project, more than 650 local young people will have attended one of the courses, which aim to teach understanding and inspire action, however big or small.
Arsenal in the Community have been at the forefront of the delivery by hosting several schools at Emirates Stadium, where the participants were treated to a stadium tour with a sustainability twist, as we showed them our waste-sorting areas as well as the changing rooms.
We will also be rolling this training out to Arsenal staff in the near future as we continue to seek reductions in our emissions and take further steps towards our recently announced net zero targets.
