Shining a light on ESOS

Sustainability energy saving

As part of the governmental drive to persuade companies to be more efficient with their energy consumption, we have been working on our latest submission for ESOS, the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme.

This scheme has been running for many years and has resulted in several audits of Arsenal’s facilities to seek out ways that we can use less energy.

In the latest phase, we have submitted our action plan to cover the work that we have already undertaken and will be putting into progress up to the end of 2026. After that, we will be updating our submission to include further actions.

Within the current submission, we have been able to illustrate the work that we’re proud to say we’ve completed over recent years, including the new lighting systems at Emirates Stadium and at Sohba Realty Training Centre.

As for the future, in an effort to reduce our energy consumption, we are creating a new Energy and Water Management Policy, training our facilities team in energy efficiency and looking at ways to reduce the operation times of all the boilers and air conditioning units across our sites.

This scheme is running until 2027 and throughout that time we are really excited about the impact that we will be able to make on reducing our energy consumption.
