WHAT HAPPENED

Our Premier League Cup campaign came to an end on Saturday afternoon as we drew 3-3 with Manchester United in our final group-stage match.

Jack Wilshere's side came into this one knowing that a win would secure progression through to the next round, but it was the hosts that made the fast start, taking the lead through a Manni Norkett penalty inside 10 minutes after an Alexei Rojas foul.

It wasn't long before we restored parity with a spot-kick of our own, captain Bradley Ibrahim stepping up to cooly convert his penalty on the half-hour mark.

We fell behind for the second time in the match shortly after the break, Ethan Williams' strike giving Manchester United the lead, but once again we showed fighting spirit to respond almost immediately, Ethan Nwaneri continuing his impressive form with a well-taken finish on the edge of the area after a clever turn.

The fifteen-year-old was on the scoresheet again only 10 minutes later to hand us the lead for the first time in the match with a stunning solo run that was capped off with a powerful strike past Tom Wooster.

Despite twice coming from behind to lead with five minutes left to play, Williams completed his brace for the hosts in the closing stages to take a share of the points, meaning we finish third in Group C and missed out on qualification to the next stage of the Premier League Cup.

WHAT IT MEANS

We're eliminated from the Premier League Cup after finishing third in Group C, two points behind Aston Villa and Newcastle in first and second place, respectively.

WHAT'S NEXT

We're back in Under-18 Premier League action next, when we host Southampton on Saturday, November 19.

Kick-off at London Colney is at 11.30am.
