‘We’re getting back to where we’re meant to be’

Emma Mitchell has been a key part of our resurgence under Joe Montemurro.

An indispensable member of our backline, the 25-year-old has played 19 games this season and has even chipped in with four goals from left back.

“I think even in such a short period of time that Joe’s been here, you can see the difference in terms of training, the way that we’ve been playing,” Mitchell told Arsenal Player.

“We won another cup final and that’s where this club’s meant to be. I just think it’s going to take a little bit longer, but it’s obviously showing good signs already. It’s massive and I think it’s time for the club to kick on and be back where we’re meant to be.”

Last month’s FA WSL Continental Cup win was Mitchell’s sixth honour with us, but what has been her favourite moment so far?

“Probably winning the FA Cup at Wembley [in 2016],” she said. “That was a big day for us and obviously going into it we were the underdogs, but with the team we had there was never a question that we couldn’t win it. It was just a fantastic day for the club.”
