Beth Mead says Sunday’s second-half performance against Yeovil Town everyone how good we can be in full flow.
We only had one goal to show for a dominant performance in the first 45 minutes, but struck three more times after the break to move up to third in the Women’s Super League.
Mead scored two of those, with Dan Carter also registering a brace, and the 22-year-old was pleased with our professional approach after the break.
“It was always going to be a tough game and in the first half we were a little bit sloppy,” she said. “We had to tidy it up, and it was nice to get the goal to help the girls settle down a bit.
“We knew we hadn’t been good enough first half, and that we had to improve, and we did that second half and showed everyone how good we are, and the Arsenal way.
“Starting from now we’ve got to recover again, get our heads back in that FA Cup mode again, and train well this week and get another good result this weekend.
“We put a lot of pressure on ourselves, we want to be in these finals, so the FA Cup is a big tournament for us.
“It’s one that everyone wants to be in the final of, myself included. I’ve never been in one before, so there’s a lot of us striving for us."
