‘The way we play here is so enjoyable’

Vivianne Miedema has been unstoppable this season.

The forward goes into the Christmas break with 20 goals in 14 appearances this term, including three hat-tricks against Liverpool, Lewes and Reading.

Miedema was rewarded for her stellar start to the season with a new contract on Thursday, and she says that there is nowhere else she would rather be.

“I think the direction the club is going in, me being happy here, we’re playing good football here - it just made me really appreciate the club here,” the Netherlands international told Arsenal Player.

“I just want to be a part of what we’re doing here and keep growing over the next couple of years. I’m happy and I hope we’re just going to do a lot of good stuff at the club.

“The way we play is really good but also really enjoyable. Obviously with the way we play, we want to win prizes and I think we’re going to do that in the next couple of years. Then we can only keep growing. As long as we all just enjoy it as much as we do right now, I think we’re definitely going to win prizes.

“I’m just really happy that the team is doing well. Obviously because I am a striker, I need to score goals. It’s just kind of my job to do it and I just want to help the team in any way possible. I think that’s just my focus, not really winning awards myself. As a team. I want to win a Champions League, so that’s what we need to do.”
