We were forced to settle for a draw at West Bromwich Albion in our final game of 2017.
It looked like we'd end the year with back-to-back away league wins when Alexis saw a free-kick deflect off James McClean and beat Ben Foster as full-time neared. But our joy was short-lived - Mike Dean blowing for a penalty after Kieran Gibbs' cross hit Calum Chambers at close range. Jay Rodriguez converted the resulting penalty.
