It's time to pick our Women's Player of the Month for January!
January was an unbeaten month for our Gunners in the Women's Super League and domestic cup competitions. Over 46,500 supporters packed into Emirates Stadium to watch us kick off 2023 with a draw against league leaders Chelsea and back at Meadow Park, we eased into the FA Cup fifth-round and the Conti Cup semi-finals.
But who was our standout performer from the month? Here are the four contenders:
- Caitlin Foord truly showed her impact and versatility this January. Our Aussie forward played all three fixtures and was a relentless goal threat in each, bagging two goals and an assist
- After two months sidelined through injury, Kim Little returned to the squad and immediately proved herself indispensable. With her vital penalty against Chelsea and a whopping 91% passing accuracy across our January fixtures, our skipper enjoyed another great month for the Arsenal
- Frida Maanum still shows no sign of slowing down. As our top goal scorer across all competitions this season, Frida added another two goals and three assists to her tally last month - with her dribble and strike against Aston Villa the pick of the bunch
- Laura Wienroither was rock solid in both defence and attack in her two appearances in January. With a clean sheet against Leeds United in the FA Cup and eight tackles and interceptions against Chelsea, our Austrian wing-back's impact was felt all over the pitch
